Many agricultural sites around our area still utilise overhead power networks for distributing single and three phase electricity around the farm on the customer’s side of the meter.

Whilst in many cases these networks have served well for many years, finding a maintenance contractor when failures occur can be difficult.

Mervad’s skilled teams can help. Several of our staff are qualified climbers both on wooden poles and steel structures, they are also mewp (cherrypicker) trained and conversant with man riding baskets attached to farm loaders.

Our warehouse holds several stock lengths of hard drawn copper wire and a wide range of insulators and pole hardware.

We can source and erect poles to replace or complement your existing infrastructure or provide a complete design and engineering service to replace the overhead network with underground cabling.

So whether it’s a tree fallen across the farmyard or a change required as a result of a new building give us a call, we enjoy a challenge !!

Please note: We are not electricity company linesman and can not assist (although can advise) on issues with cables owned or operated by EDF networks. In event of an emergency involving such cables, you should contact EDF’s 24 call centre on 0800 783 8838.
